Simple Layout for a Website.

To make a website first of all we must know the standard parameters, i.e, width & height of a website.
There is no standard height of any website, you can select a website's height according to contents, but websites must be of a STANDARD WIDTH, which is 980px to 1002px. This is the normal width of a website which is being used now a days.

Here is a simple layout/mock up for a website.

Normally mock up is a design made after thinking and planning that which thing will be placed at which side, in the above mock up the width is 980px and height is 1000px.
